When Christ Community International (CCI) sent a group to Kawete, Uganda, this past spring, they wanted to help the community in a variety of different ways.
A pediatrician assisted the local school nurse in providing medical care to families, and volunteers handed out supplies to children at the school. Even after the volunteers left, CCI continues to grow relationships, develop infrastructure, and enhance education.
These are all great things—but they’re not the best thing CCI does in Kawete.
The best thing CCI does for the people of Kawete is bringing them the Gospel.
The primary school in the community has religion classes. Leaders host Bible studies. The full-time chaplain leads Sunday worship. And when volunteers visited Kawete this spring, they brought The Twenty-Third Psalm Arch Books to hand out to all of the children at the school.
Even after the volunteers were back in the United States and the children were back in their regular school routine, those books stayed with them—and enriched what they’re learning in their religion classes. Owning a Bible-based book encourages children to take ownership of their faith, getting to know their Savior.
Those Arch Books traveled all the way to Uganda and were placed in the hands of children because of your generous gifts to Concordia Gospel Outreach. Every jar full of change, every check, every round-up purchase on cph.org—every cent goes directly to sending books to real people in real communities in real need.
Whether the Bible or book is received by someone who has never heard the Gospel, a child who has never owned a book, or a steadfast Christian in a war-torn country, that book is bringing Jesus to someone who needs Him.
And that’s all because of you.
Thank you for supporting the spread of the Gospel in places you’ve never been. Thank you for putting the Gospel into empty hands. Thank you for giving generously from your heart.
In 2019, we want to send more books to more people in more countries. And we need your help. Your donation—no matter the size—will send books to places like Kawete, nestled in between medical and school supplies, so missionaries can continue to support people in every aspect of their life.
I hope you’ll join us in our effort to send the Gospel to more countries. The Word of God is living and active, and that Word gets put into empty hands because of you.
