CGO is the charity arm of Concordia Publishing House. CPH is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that publishes Bibles, Sunday School and day school curriculum, Vacation Bible School materials, and Bible-based books and supporting material. All of the books that CGO sends around the world are published by CPH. 

The CGO team works with the leadership at Concordia Publishing House to select organizations to partner with and to choose which resources will be sent to meet outreach needs.

In order to receive resources, organizations must be focused on sharing the Good News of Jesus and must have a complete and measurable plan for using the resources that are donated. Resources donated by Concordia Gospel Outreach must be used for strengthening the faith of current Christians or sharing the Gospel with people who have never heard it before. In order to maximize the reach and impact of the resources, we give priority to projects that have the potential to reach larger numbers of people.

CGO sends resources to support mission programs around the world and throughout the United States.

Yes. Gift receipts will be emailed to individuals who give online. For donations given by phone or mail, gift receipts will be issued when a name and return address are provided.

If your donation is larger than $50, we will also send you a tax receipt in January for the previous calendar year.

100% of your donation goes directly toward our efforts to send Bible-based books around the globe. When you donate using a credit card, a small percentage is removed for processing fees and the rest goes to CGO.

• First and foremost: Pray. Please pray for the safety of the people delivering the books and for the hearts and minds of those who receive them.

Yes! We are very interested in learning about your ministry and how CGO can help it.

If you would like to apply, please send the following information to cgo@cph.org:

• The name of your organization or church
• Your contact information
• Why you are seeking a donation
• Who the targeted population is that will be served by your mission work
• When and where the mission work will take place
• A description of the types of resources you are seeking

You should receive a reply within 3–5 business days.

After your mission work is complete, we may ask for photos and a description of your work so we can share your story with our donors.

We are no longer accepting used materials. However, we do encourage you to either share used materials with ministry programs in your community or to properly recycle them.
